About us

Vinland is an informal brasserie located in the former American Embassy, designed by the star architect Eero Saarinen.

Head Chef Charif El Messaoudi blends influences from his native France with inspiration from the building's American history and Norwegian ingredients and flavors. Here you’ll find lobster, fish, and meat seared at 700 degrees for deep caramelization. Our unforgettable porterhouse and grilled lobster let you enjoy the season’s best Norwegian seafood and locally sourced vegetables. The menu offers modern, generous takes on classic dishes from our broiler grill.

Vinland features several distinct zones, making it ideal for celebrations, romantic dinners, gatherings with friends — or simply a glass of wine at the bar. For larger parties, we offer the Chambre (up to 16 people) and the Americans’ former auditorium (up to 60 people).

Our wine cellar is among the country's largest and finest, offering classic top wines for the connoisseur, exciting explorations of emerging wine regions, and exceptional taste experiences in all price ranges. The wine program is led by Francesco Marzola.

We are open for lunch and dinner all week, and we invite you to brunch on weekends.

Team Vinland looks forward to welcoming you!
